Rowing enthusiasts recently gathered at the Rowing Club Argo Izola Gym for an exhilarating indoor mixed relay-marathon, organized as part of the Erasmus project CoWay. On Saturday, February 3rd, at 10:00, participants embarked on a thrilling rowing experience, conquering a relay half marathon on ergometers (rowing simulators).

The atmosphere was electric as teams tackled the challenge of covering a distance of 21,000 meters – a true test of endurance and teamwork. Despite the intense competition, the spirit of sportsmanship prevailed throughout the event, creating a sense of camaraderie among participants.

We are proud to have partnered with the Rowing Club Argo Izola for this event, which showcased the club’s commitment to promoting teamwork and inclusivity in rowing. As part of the Erasmus project CoWay, the event exemplified our dedication to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment within the sport.

The relay-marathon was indeed a special occasion for the rowers of VK Argo Izola, who pushed themselves to the limit in a 21km-long race on rowing machines. Four teams, each comprising six members – three girls and three boys – competed against each other in a race where creativity and strategy were key.

With no rules dictating how teams should cover the distance, each team devised its unique strategy for changing rowers, adding an extra layer of excitement to the competition. The race remained tense until the last stroke, with the fastest team crossing the finish line in an impressive time of 1:17:03.

Congratulations to all the participants for their outstanding performance and sportsmanship, and a heartfelt thank you to the Rowing Club Argo Izola for hosting such a memorable event. Together, we continue to champion teamwork, inclusivity, and excellence in rowing.
